TALKING PICTURES Kay Gasei
Based in London, British-Zambian artist Kay Gasei creates mixed media work that dives into the stories and symbols that sit behind who we are. His practice combines an intimate knowledge of drawing and illustration with fearless, emotionally charged mark-making. The result? Images that weave together layered stories. Stories that keep us questioning, looking, wondering. He builds worlds that we are supposed to get lost in.
Gasei has exhibited at art fairs internationally, from Miami Basel to London’s The Other Art Fair. He secured Soho.Home.Studio’s first ever artist residency and is gearing up for a solo show in Shanghai.
