I got my start...Working on the 2008 Obama Presidential campaign.
One of my all-time favourite film scenes is...Mark Ruffalo breaking into tears and falling into the arms of his on-screen sister, Laura Linney in You Can Count on Me.
My hype song is...Flowdan Dub by Interplanetary Criminal.
The best advice I’ve ever received is...to learn to live by ‘Ikigai’ – the Japanese approach to attaining happiness through a ‘reason for being'.
The animal I most identify with is...my red golden retriever, Bee.
One thing that constantly surprises me...is people and the power of community. Without community – creative or otherwise – we fold into ourselves.

James Loves
listen: The Slate Culture Gabfest

"Launched in 2008, thanks to its three hosts, it remains one of the most diverse, educational and entertaining popular culture shows out there. A weekly high-low of cultural criticism that I always look forward to"
listen: Okay Kaya - I'm Stupid (but I love you)

"I fell in love with the music of Okay Kaya many years ago and it was this song and this video that did it. In a world of so much processed pulp, everything about her music felt fresh and beautiful and sensitive. Also check out her slowed-down covers of Shania Twain’s ‘You’re Still the One’ and Cher’s ‘Believe’"
visit: Chez Georges, Paris

"As a European living in Los Angeles, I do miss the atmosphere of Parisian restaurants. Chez Georges feels permanent and resistant to change in the best possible way. Excellent butter and crisp radishes"
watch: Hale County This Morning This Evening

"It completely changed the way I viewed documentary filmmaking. So emotive and imaginative. Beautifully shot in the Deep South by photographer Ra’mell Ross, the film may not be for everyone, but it felt like it re-defined a genre by showing how impressionistic documentary could be"
